England players were given a chance to respond to their critics against Slovenia but Gareth Southgate’s side ended up creating more questions than answers.
The Three Lions were booed off the pitch in Cologne after ending their Euros group stage with a goalless draw.
England are fortunate that Denmark failed to break the deadlock against Serbia otherwise they could have been demoted to second and thrown into a rather difficult side of the draw for the knockout stage.
The travelling English support were less than pleased with what they saw from the side, and rightly so after another turgid and uninspiring performance.
Gareth Southgate responded to criticism in his post-match press conference, saying “It’s creating an unusual environment to operate in. I’ve not seen any other team qualify and receive similar.”
Ultimately, patience in Southgate is running thin and conversations about a managerial change have already begun.
Richard Keys wants ex-Tottenham boss at England
Heading into the Euros, it was accepted by most that this would be Southgate’s final tournament – win or lose.
But pundit Richard Keys wants Southgate’s time in the managerial hot seat to end before the tournament has even finished with former Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp cited as a replacement
Speaking on BeIN Sports after the full-time whistle, Keys said: “We’re here to win it and from what I’ve seen tonight, that’s not winning the next game, let alone the tournament.
“Harry Redknapp’s sat in Dubai tonight, give him a call.
“[Jurgen] Klopp won’t do it but Harry, you think he wouldn’t be on a plane tomorrow morning?”

England will not rush into Gareth Southgate decision
As poor as England have been this tournament, it is hard to imagine Southgate leaving the camp before it has finished.
Staying on beyond the Euros is out of the question – England fans will simply not allow it – but a mid-tournament change would be rash and illogical.

It is also hard to imagine that the FA have shortlisted Redknapp as a possible replacement – this young and talented England team is calling out for an exciting young manager to take the reins.
Southgate will stick around for the knockout games, but he has a mountain to climb if he is to win over the England fans once again.
