Speaking on The Invisible Wall Podcast, Gilberto Silva has claimed that things would be different at Arsenal if they still had Olivier Giroud at the club.
The Brazilian was speaking about Arsenal’s lack of creativity and their tendency to cross the ball so often, and he said that such a tactic could have worked if Giroud was still at the club.
“It was a lack of creativity for me, a lack of clear chances, they tried so much crossing.
“In my opinion, Aubameyang is not the best guy in the air, even though he’s scored a few goals, he’s not the best.
“It would be different if Arsenal still had Olivier Giroud who they had in the past.”

Gilberto Silva is spot on here.
Arsenal fans would probably agree with him as well, as a number of supporters were calling for Giroud to re-sign after he scored four goals for Chelsea in the Champions League.
Arteta has come out to back his tactic of relentless crossing into the box, explaining that mathematically, his team will start scoring, but it would be a lot easier if they had a man as dominant in the air as Giroud.
The 6 ft 4 behemoth has shown throughout his career that he’s an aerial force, and Arsenal could certainly do with a player like that right now.
Unfortunately, he was sold for £18m by Arsene Wenger to Chelsea, and the Blues are benefitting from that transfer to this day as Giroud looks to have rediscovered his scoring touch in recent weeks.
