The Miami Heat have been a prominent contender to become LeBron James’ next NBA destination.
With the Miami Heat already pairing up Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo, adding LeBron James to the mix would make them an instant favorite to win the NBA Championship.
For what it’s worth, James has been heavily linked to a potential return to South Beach for the first time since 2014.

Gilbert Arenas says the Miami Heat are positive about signing LeBron James
During a recent appearance at the Fanatics Fest 2026, former NBA star Gilbert Arenas revealed that he had a conversation with Antetokounmpo which has given him an idea about the Heat’s chances of landing James.
“I had a little conversation with Giannis, they thinking in Miami that they’re getting him,” Arenas said on the stage.
It has also been reported that the Greek Freak is personally recruiting the 4x NBA champion to Miami. This shows that Giannis has no problem sharing the court with LBJ.
If anything, having a player of LeBron’s caliber handling the playmaking duties would allow Antetokounmpo and Adebayo to focus more on scoring and stuffing the box score.
