Glenn Hoddle on Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez v West Ham’s Declan Rice
Hoddle said in the opening minutes of the second half: “We were talking before the game about Declan Rice.
“Rice has got to pick out some of those passes to become a better player. We’ve seen three or four of those from Enzo Fernandez and it gets me excited.”

Performance analysis
In our view, Enzo Fernandez played well for Chelsea against West Ham United.
The Argentina international provided the assist for the Blues’ goal in the first half.
Fernandez imposed himself in the middle of the park, especially in the opening 45 minutes, and was a force to be reckoned with.
Meanwhile, Declan Rice was not exactly at his best in the London derby, but the England international did have a good game in the middle of the park.
Rice went about his business strongly and without much fuss and imposed himself on the game in the second half.
Now, Fernandez did get the better of Rice in the first half, but the England international midfielder stepped up his game in the second period.
