Speaking on Ben Foster’s Podcast, Troy Deeney has been discussing his young Birmingham City teammate George Hall.
The 18-year-old has been making waves in the Midlands for quite some time now. He’s attracted interest from the Premier League with clubs like Leeds United reportedly keen, and now, Deeney says that he’s told Mark Noble to sign him for West Ham United.
Indeed, Deeney says that he’s told five or six clubs, including West Ham, to get Hall while they still can.

The striker spoke about his teammate.
“We have George Hall who I think is going to be a player by the way. I’ve warned five or six other teams that I know, like Nobes at West Ham, I’ve said ‘get this kid now’. He’s only 18 but he’s mustard mate. When he plays he’s impactful,” Deeney said.
Counter-productive
Deeney is doing a great job of being Hall’s agent here, but this does feel very counter-productive from a Birmingham City point of view.
Why on earth is the Blues’ captain touting their brightest young talent to other clubs? It doesn’t make sense.
Yes, he’s a player who will eventually be good enough to make this kind of move, but as Birmingham’s captain you shouldn’t be telling rival teams to snap him up now while he’s still going under the radar, you should want what is best for your current side.
Deeney probably doesn’t have ill-intentions here, but he’s certainly not helping the Blues when telling multiple other clubs to have a look at Hall.
Imagine if the same had happened when Jude Bellingham was just making his name at Birmingham? The club would’ve lost out on millions.
