Thibaut Courtois has shared that the Chelsea players have told him ‘go get it’ and win the Champions League final, as he told Thibaut Talks ahead of Real Madrid’s showdown against Liverpool.
Real Madrid beat Chelsea on their way to Paris, with Liverpool probably having an easier route, with Villarreal possibly being their biggest threat.
Nonetheless, Belgium’s number one shot-stopper will know Liverpool very well from his days in the Premier League.
But, whilst some of his Real Madrid players have tasted success in the Champions League before, Courtois was beaten, when playing for Atletico Madrid against Real themselves in the 2014 Champions League final.
It’s a memory the 30-year-old wants to replace with that winning moment of beating Liverpool in Paris, as he shared what some of his former Chelsea mates have told him.
“After losing one final, it’s really a big goal of mine to win it eventually,” said Courtois. “I don’t need motivation. I know how it is to be on the other side to have lost a final.
“I know from videos, how it is to win it. After seeing a lot of my friends win it last year at Chelsea, hopefully, this year is on us.
“I remember after beating them, a lot of them saying ‘now, go and get it. Go and get it’, so, hopefully, we can go and get it.”

REVENGE OR REPEAT?
Liverpool will want revenge for the 2018 Champions League final defeat, but could history repeat itself?
Now, ironically enough two types of history could repeat themselves on Saturday, with Madrid and Liverpool contesting the final.
That game from four years ago, when Gareth Bale scored that outrageous bicycle kick to help Real become the undisputed Champions League kings.
But, the last time these two met in a final in Paris, was in 1981 and Liverpool were the winners – also the last time the La Liga giants lost a European final.
So, there are many stories to be written in France’s capital as two European heavyweights battle it out for domestic football’s biggest crown.
