Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has returned to London following Ghana’s early elimination from the Africa Cup of Nations.
As posted by Football London journalist Chris Wheatley on Twitter, the 28-year-old is back in the English capital. Ghana suffered a shock departure from AFCON after losing 3-2 to Comoros.
Whilst the disastrous result has led to an official government-led review in Ghana as reported by Goal, Arsenal fans are more than happy to see Partey back so early from Cameroon.
The midfielder is unlikely to feature tonight against Liverpool in the League Cup semi-final. However, there is a strong chance that Partey could be involved in Arsenal’s Premier League match against Burnley on Sunday.
Indeed, there were fears that Partey could miss as many as four Premier League matches based on Ghana’s progression in AFCON.
However, with the west African giants providing one of the shocks of the tournament by being eliminated at the group stage, Arsenal have their star midfielder back already with zero league games missed.
Partey was the Man of the Match in his last game before AFCON against Manchester City, and as you can expect, Arsenal fans on social media are buzzing that the midfielder is already back in London.
