Steven Gerrard and his Rangers team head into their Europa League tie with Standard Liege knowing that they will qualify for the knockout stages of the competition if they win.

It’s hard to imagine that the Gers will have too much trouble overcoming the Belgian outfit after they beat them 2-0 away from home earlier in the campaign.

However, Steven Gerrard can’t afford to be lax heading into this one as a loss would see Gerrard’s side needing to pick up a result in the final matchday against Lech Poznan, and of course, there is the extra incentive of topping the group.

There is always the temptation to rotate in these mid-week European games, especially when you’re qualification is all-but confirmed, but we expect Gerrard to go with a strong side for this one.

We’ve had a go at putting together a predicted XI for Rangers’ Europa League tie.

Rangers' Predicted XI against Standard Liege

We think that Gerrard will go with a full-strength side here.

There are seven changes from the rotated team that overcame Falkirk in the League Cup at the weekend, as the manager reverts back to using the players we’ve grown accustomed to seeing in the Europa League.

The back five reverts back to the one we saw start in Rangers’ last Europa League game against Benfica.

In the midfield, Glen Kamara and Steven Davis start in the deeper roles, while Scott Arfield plays slightly further forward. Ryan Jack isn’t in our XI as there are still question marks around his fitness.

The front three of Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent and Kemar Roofe have also been reunited for this match.
