Spain’s World Cup campaign has only just begun, but fans are already dreaming big, and not just about the trophy.
There is talk of pink hair, a Lamine Yamal beard and even a Luis de la Fuente tattoo if Spain turn another golden generation into world champions.
Despite a frustrating 0-0 draw against Cabo Verde in their opening Group H match, confidence remains high within De la Fuente’s squad. Spain controlled the game but could not find the breakthrough, yet the players are keeping spirits up in their own way.

Gavi and Lamine Yamal make bold Spain World Cup promises
Their promises caught attention on Instagram, where Spain’s young stars played up what they would do if they brought the World Cup home.
Gavi told RAC1: “I’ll dye my hair pink if we win the World Cup.”
Lamine Yamal added his own twist on his YouTube channel: “If we win the World Cup, I promise I’Il grow my beard and moustache for three weeks.”
Yamal’s promise got fans talking, not because it is dramatic, but because he is still the teenager trying to live up to the hype placed on his shoulders by Spain and Barcelona. Three weeks might not deliver much facial hair, but the internet loved it anyway.
Gavi’s vow fits his mindset too. He has battled back from a major injury to reclaim his place in midfield, and a splash of pink hair would be a perfect way to mark a summer that could define his career.
Spain World Cup bets add color to serious pressure
Marc Cucurella has already joined in. He told COPE he would get a tattoo of Luis de la Fuente’s face if Spain went all the way, a far more permanent gesture than the others.
These sorts of promises are not new. Players have celebrated big wins with dyed hair, tattoos and other public bets for years. Argentina’s 2022 triumph, for example, inspired plenty of trophy-themed ink.
Spain are looking to add a second World Cup to their 2010 success. They arrived as Euro 2024 champions, and with the talent of Yamal, Gavi, Pedri, Rodri and Nico Williams, expectations are high.
While the draw with Cabo Verde showed Spain still need to be more clinical, the lighthearted promises from Gavi, Yamal and Cucurella suggest belief remains strong.
If Spain do go all the way, the celebration photos might end up just as memorable as the matches themselves.
