Gary Neville has said once again that Arsenal left-back Oleksandr Zinchenko is not a leader, after famously questioning his leadership abilities back in August.

However, the biggest and best example of the £150,000-a-week defender leading his teammates emerged when the man himself revealed that he told them that the aim this season was not to finish in the top 3 but to try to win the Premier League itself, despite them laughing in response.

As Arsenal find themselves as favourites to win the title, Oleksandr Zinchenko has clearly proven his worth as a leader, both on and off the pitch, despite Gary Neville still remaining unconvinced, whilst recently lauding him for being ‘the best’ at his role as an inverted full-back.

Gary Neville says Oleksandr Zinchenko is not a leader again

In fact, Jakub Kiwior’s agent lifted the lid on the Ukrainian icon dragging his client into the dressing room after his side’s last-gasp win against Manchester United and telling him that he is now a part of the team.

However, Gary Neville, despite plenty of evidence being in front of him still does not perceive Oleksandr Zinchenko as a leader, saying on The Overlap Fan Debate, “I saw him against Everton [after being frustrated by Neil Maupay] on Saturday, he’s not a leader! He’s a great professional, he’s not a leader.”

“Do you think he’s a leader?”, he asked host and Gunners fan Josh Denzel before accepting his point of view.

The decorated defender has proven the pundit wrong at Arsenal

Those that watched the 4-time Premier League champion at Manchester City will tell you that in terms of his mentality and willingness to will his teammates on, he was second to none.

The same trend has continued at Arsenal, as Oleksandr Zinchenko has stepped up as a leader of this young ensemble, regardless of what Gary Neville believes.

However, it seemed by the end that Neville was open to admitting that he may got this take off the mark, to be fair to him.
