There aren’t many managers out there who are more animated than Arsenal’s very own, Mikel Arteta.
The Arsenal manager gets booked and suspended more than his players, whether it’s for his touchline behaviour or post-match comments.
One thing is for sure, he isn’t going to change, as he proved during Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Brighton and Hove Albion.
Mikel Arteta, who was recently suspended from the touchline during his side’s defeat at Villa Park, was booked by on-field referee, Tim Robinson on Sunday.
Gary Lineker touched upon that moment when looking back on the weekend’s action by stating ‘he does get carried away’, as he told The Rest is Football Podcast.
Look, there are rules, but you can’t deny managers wanting to showcase passion, it’s just a case of some showing it more than others.
And Mikel Arteta, just like his old mate, Pep Guardiola, is as animated as they come and they aren’t afraid to express themselves, even if some, such as Gary Lineker, think it’s an overreaction.
Mikel Arteta on the touchline
“Arteta was booked again,” said Lineker. “He obviously got away with the charges. They dropped them, didn’t they?!
“He does get carried away on the touchline. I don’t mind it personally.”

Arsenal top of the Premier League table
If Arteta is getting booked left, right and centre already, then there are probably more of those coming his way this season.
Arsenal returned back to the top of the table on Sunday with those three points against Brighton, with Liverpool being held by Manchester United.
But during these coming months, the pressure is only going to increase on Arsenal’s £158k-a-week man on the touchline, because those real title-defining moments are around the corner.
Arsenal have seen through this period before last season, where they shot themselves in the foot and struggled during the final months of the campaign.
