Gary Lineker has taken to Twitter after Harry Kane broke a Premier League record earlier today, when opening the scoring in the Premier League clash between Tottenham and Wolves.
What’s the story?
Well, the BBC Match of the Day host heaped praise on the England international after he leapfrogged Sergio Aguero to become the player with the most Premier League goals for a single club.
Kane’s 64th minute header against Wolves was his 185th goal in the Premier League for Tottenham, which is a simply remarkable landmark to hit at the age of 29.
You can see what Lineker said about the Tottenham No.10’s achievement below.
Kane could’ve had more goals to his name earlier today, as he also saw a powerful header rattle Jose Sa’s crossbar at the start of the second half.
In truth, it was a disappointing display from Spurs, but they managed to nick all three points – once again – thanks to their talisman, who always comes up trumps for the north Londoners.
Kane now needs just three more goals to jump ahead of Andy Cole (187 goals) into second on the all-time Premier League goalscoring chart, where Alan Shearer’s astonishing record of 261 goals remains the number to beat.
Harry Kane can beat Alan Shearer if he replicates Tottenham efforts vs Wolves
Against Wolves, Tottenham didn’t create many chances for Kane – any opportunity he did have, he seemed to earn for himself.
In our view, it is this industry in front of goal which can help him beat Shearer’s record.

Kane won’t always score two or three per game, but if he can continue to nick scrappy goals out of nothing like he did today against Wolves, that could be enough to edge him over the line and beat Shearer.
Whatever happens, we are undoubtedly watching one of the greatest players of this generation.
