Gary Lineker has taken to Twitter to react after Arsenal tore West Ham apart in the opening ten minutes earlier on Sunday.
The Gunners arrived at the London Stadium just three points ahead of Manchester City after Saturday’s round of action, so it was imperative for Mikel Arteta to oversee a strong start and ease any nerves.
What’s the story?
Well, a fast start was exactly what Arsenal delivered as goals from Gabriel Jesus and Martin Ødegaard put the north Londoners 2-0 up against West Ham after just ten minutes.
However, things fell apart as goals from Said Benrahma and Jarrod Bowen saw West Ham grab a 2-2 draw.
After seeing how quickly the Gunners had raced into the lead, Lineker wrote: “No messing from Arsenal. That’s quite the start.”
Quite the start indeed.
Some Arsenal fans were probably feeling quite nervous ahead of Sunday’s clash with West Ham, as the Irons are in desperate need of three points down the bottom of the table.
Going into today’s game, the Hammers sat just three points above the relegation zone.
While those nerves were eased, they are back again and stronger than before as Arsenal’s eight point lead over Manchester City is now down to four.
The fixture list does not look too kind for David Moyes either despite grabbing a point today.
After today’s clash with Arsenal ends, West Ham still have to play Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United, while the meeting with Brentford could also be very difficult.
Arsenal showed steely nature against West Ham but collapsed
Usually when a side is just three points ahead in a title race, they can get a little bit nervous.
Signs of nervousness can usually involve a slow start to games and the inability to do what got them to this point, although neither of those were evident at the London Stadium until a strange collapse.

Arsenal scored two excellent goals within just ten minutes which had Arteta’s stamp all over them.
The first involved some quick passing around the box before Ben White was able to play a cross to the back post for Jesus, while Ødegaard’s goal was similar, and involved another ball played to the back stick.
However, it was as if Arsenal took their foot off the gas after that.
Arteta will be furious that his side have now thrown away a 2-0 lead in successive Premier League outings, to say the least.
