BBC Sport pundit Garth Crooks selected him in his Team of the Week, while asking the loaded question of whether the Belgian will be able to actually go on and win trophies at Everton.
He said: “Everton have had some wonderful strikers over the years: Joe Royle, Andy Gray, Graeme Sharp and now Lukaku, it would appear, is about to join that band of iconic names.
“The only problem for Lukaku is the aforementioned actually won trophies while playing for the Toffees.
“Scoring goals is the most difficult thing to do in football but winning trophies is what characterises careers and that must be the next item on the striker’s agenda.”

The straightforward answer is that Lukaku won’t win any trophies this season at Everton, with the club seventh in the Premier League and out of the FA Cup and EFL Cup already.
What Everton have to do is to try to convince Lukaku that he can, after all, they reached the semi-final of the FA Cup last season, and have shown improvement this campaign in the league under new manager Ronald Koeman.
His form tailed off badly at the end of last season and playing under Koeman has revitalised his career. This could lead to a new round of speculation in the summer, but Lukaku would be best advised to simply enjoy doing what he is doing.
