Leeds United are still firmly involved in the fight for promotion, despite yesterday’s disappointing defeat.

Garry Monk admitted that Leeds’ defeat to Huddersfield Town was a set-back in terms of their promotion hopes, when speaking to reporters at his post-match press conference, but insisted he has full confidence in his side’s ability to bounce back immediately, as quoted by the club’s official website.

Rival Championship boss gives three reasons why he knew Leeds would do so well this season

Despite yesterday’s loss, the Whites are still in the midst of a fantastic run of form that has seen them win eight of their last 12 Championship outings, and they are currently comfortably sitting inside the play-off spots in fifth position, eight points clear of seventh placed Norwich City.

And Monk explained how important it will be for his side to get back to winning ways immediately, when speaking to reporters during his post-match press conference, insisting that he has full confidence in his players’ ability to do just that, as quoted by LeedsUnited.com:

“Overall nothing changes for us, we stay focused on the journey we are on. We will continue to show the same commitment and desire and I’m sure that we will do well in our upcoming games. We are all disappointed, we don’t like to lose any game and to lose against Huddersfield hurts. In the next game we will make sure that this hurt comes out and we will be ready to go again.”

The West Yorkshire outfit now have a fantastic opportunity to bounce straight back from their loss to the Terriers, with consecutive home games against Championship strugglers Cardiff City and Bristol City respectively, before an away match against 16th placed Ipswich Town.
