Gareth Bale has tipped Spurs and Wales teammate Joe Rodon to get even better than he already is.
The 23-year-old earnt a big-money move to Tottenham this summer after impressing for Swansea, and Bale thinks that this is only the beginning for him.
This comes after an international break that had the Welsh media raving about Rodon’s performances for the national team, and Bale clearly rates him highly.
“We all regard him as a great centre-half and we think he’s going to go on to do amazing things,” Bale said, as reported by Wales Online.
“Signing for Tottenham was a step in the right direction for him and one that I feel like he was ready for. I think his performance the other night showed how good he was, especially with that tackle he made [against Republic of Ireland].
“I think this season he’ll really grow again and, when he gets his chance in the Tottenham team, I’m sure he’ll take it and do amazingly.”

The fact that Bale thinks Rodon will only get better certainly bodes well for Spurs.
The 23-year-old was certainly signed as one for the future, and it seems as though he has a high ceiling and plenty of potential.
Of course, whether or not he realises this potential remains to be seen, and the fact that he is yet to start a Premier League game for Spurs isn’t great for his development, but he’s working alongside some of the best coaches in the game and still getting chances with Wales.
Bale is certainly qualified to comment on what a top-class centre-half looks like, after all, he’s been playing against them for over a decade and he’s won four Champions League titles, so praise from him is certainly something you can put a lot of value into.
