Gabriel Magalhaes has reacted on Fabrizio Romano’s Instagram to claims that William Saliba has signed a new contract with Arsenal.

The transfer expert posted his typical ‘Here We Go’ to William Saliba signing a new four-year contract, how the ‘documents have been approved’ and the ‘official statement will be soon’.

In the comments section of Romano’s Instagram post, Gabriel Magalhaes reacted by posting a raised hands and heart emoji as he approved the deal between Arsenal and the France international.

The duo proved to be a strong centre-back pairing this season after Mikel Arteta decided to push Ben White to right-back.

And that call proved to be a masterstroke because both Gabriel and Saliba were outstanding, even though it was the first time they had played alongside each other.

Yes, the team as a whole shot themselves in the foot by blowing their lead at the top of the Premier League table, but it could be argued that if Saliba didn’t get injured, then things might have been very different.

Saliba deal a positive step forward

This is good news for Arsenal fans because the 22-year-old is proving to be one of the best defenders in the Premier League.

Whilst there is talk of players like Declan Rice signing, those within the four walls of the Emirates are making sure that the futures of those within are also looked after.

Bukayo Saka has already committed his long-term future to the club, after an outstanding goalscoring campaign that saw him find the back of the net 14 times and supply 11 assists.

There is also talk of Reiss Nelson following suit, so it’s not just the first-team stars penning their futures to Arsenal because the squad is being bulked up also.
