Gabriel Agbonlahor has issued a one-word verdict on Twitter after Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa was nominated for FIFA’s ‘The Best Men’s Coach’ award.

The Argentine was named on the shortlist among the likes of Jurgen Klopp, Hansi Flick, Zinedine Zidane and Julen Lopetegui, having guided Leeds to the Premier League after a 16-year absence.

The Telegraph’s Matt Law tweeted his opinion that Frank Lampard, Dean Smith and Chris Wilder all did better jobs than Bielsa last season, but have been overlooked because they’re English.

In response to Law’s tweet, Agbonlahor simply wrote ‘yep’ in agreement with the controversial statement.

There’s no denying that the aforementioned trio all did excellent jobs with their respective clubs last term.

However, Bielsa managed to guide a team of nearly-men who have stumbled in the promotion race year after year to the Premier League, and did so in style.

The former Marseille boss has also overseen the rapid development of players such as Luke Ayling, Kalvin Phillips and Patrick Bamford, as well as Jack Harrison and Mateusz Klich to name a few.

His work at Elland Road goes beyond what we can see on the pitch.

Bielsa has revitalised the culture of Leeds, bringing a confident style of play to Yorkshire which has seen the Whites claim scalps against Manchester City and Arsenal, but by taking the game to them rather than clinging on for dear life.

Agbonlahor has previous when attempting to wind Leeds supporters up.

His antics in the build-up to Aston Villa’s 3-0 defeat to Leeds – including calling the Whites a ‘myth’ – saw the club’s official Twitter account hit back at the talkSPORT pundit in brutal fashion.

He has refrained from poking fun at Leeds for a while, but his one-word comment should do plenty to reignite the fire.
