Gabriel Agbonlahor has apologised to Arsenal fans on talkSPORT (7:26am, March 22, 2022) for criticising the players’ celebrations against Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa at the weekend.
The BT Sports and talkSPORT pundit has admitted that he was jealous to see the Arsenal fans celebrate the win against Villa at Villa Park in the Premier League on Saturday.
Mikel Arteta’s side won 1-0.
After the match, former Villa striker Agbonlahor mocked and criticised the Arsenal players for the way they celebrated the win.
Arsenal-supporting talkSPORT presenter Laura Woods subsequently took Agbonlahor to task and pointed out why he was wrong.
The former Villa striker has now apologised for his comments on Arsenal players.
Agbonlahor on talkSPORT (7:26am, March 22, 2022): “I think it was a bit of jealousy from me. So I take that comment back and apologise to Arsenal fans. Their celebrations were fine, and I am sure Arsenal will get that top-four position.”

Gabriel Agbonlahor’s message to Arsenal
In our opinion, Agbonlahor was absolutely wrong about the celebrations of the Arsenal players and fans.
The Gunners had just won against Villa.
That win enhanced their chances of finishing in the top four of the Premier League table this season.
All players and fans should celebrate a win in any game.
Yes, Arsenal did not win a trophy by winning that match, but they did pick up three points.
In our view, Agbonlahor was wrong, and he has done the right thing by admitting his mistake.
