Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United are planning to beat Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal to the signature of Sassuolo winger Domenico Berardi, according to The Chronicle.
The report has claimed that Berardi is rated at £25 million, and that Premier League clubs Newcastle and Arsenal both are keen on signing the winger in the summer transfer window.
Leicester and Arsenal scouts have been watching the 27-year-old in recent months, and Newcastle are also keeping tabs on the winger.
The Chronicle have added that Newcastle beat Arsenal to the signing of Brazil international midfielder Bruno Guimaraes from Lyon in the January transfer window and plan to beat the Gunners again this summer.
Could Newcastle beat Arsenal to Domenico Berardi signing?
In our opinion, Newcastle could well sign Berardi ahead of Arsenal in the summer transfer window.
It now looks likely that the Magpies will survive in the Premier League.

Bruno Guimaraes himself has gone on record saying that he spoke to Arsenal, but chose Newcastle in the January transfer window.
It shows the pulling power of Newcastle under PIF.
If PIF could sign a player like that in the middle of the season when it was not looking great for the team, then they could certainly sign Euro 2020 winner Berardi in the summer transfer window.
