Spurs returned to winning ways in the Premier League after a massive 2-1 win over Aston Villa.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg opened the scoring before Ollie Watkins hit back for the visitors in the second half. However, an own goal from Matt Targett 19 minutes from time was enough to see Spurs to victory against Villa.

It was a much-needed result for Nuno Espirito Santo, with Tottenham losing their last three Premier League games by big scorelines. The result saw the north London side climb to eighth in the standings.

With Heung-min Son and Cristian Romero impressing on the day, it was a good day for some Spurs players to find some form after a mixed start to the season.

And for Hojbjerg, it was a solid performance from the Danish international. And speaking to the club’s official Twitter account after the game, the midfielder gave an interview that supporters on social media loved.

The former Southampton captain has brought leadership and order to the Spurs midfield. And so far, Hojbjerg has looked like an astute signing since Jose Mourinho brought him to north London last year.
