Fulham hope to complete the signing of Shakhtar Donetsk winger Manor Solomon today though there is still one ‘last hurdle’ that must be overcome, according to Israeli publication One

Well, talk about a bolt from the blue.

Until Tuesday afternoon, absolutely no one was talking about the prospect of Solomon swapping Champions League regulars Shakhtar for Premier League-chasing Fulham.

But, in the blink of an eye, Fulham have moved into pole position for a player also on the radars of Lyon, Napoli and even the likes of Arsenal, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur.

When will Manor Solomon join Fulham?

Fulham have agreed to pay a bargain £7 million for Solomon.

Shakhtar were demanding around £20 million a couple of months ago. They dropped their asking price considerably in the aftermath of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Solomon, who has been compared to Eden Hazard in the past and scored twice in the Champions League against Real Madrid in 2020, will earn around £25,000-a-week at Craven Cottage. It’s anticipated he will sign a five-year deal.

There is still one ‘hurdle’ that must be overcome, however. One Fulham will be hoping to clear like Karsten Warholm after a litre of Red Bull.

Shakhar want a 40 per cent sell-on clause in Solomon’s contract. Fulham, however, are refusing to play ball. It is understood that a compromise could be reached at around 15 per cent.

Solomon, who scored 11 goals in all competitions last season, will be Fulham’s first signing of the summer.

He is expected to help fill a void created by the departure of Portuguese wonderkid Fabio Carvalho to Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp’s treble-chasing side completed a £5 million deal for Carvalho last week, having narrowly missed out on arguably the EFL’s most exciting youngster back in January.
