Brad Friedel has shared that people at Celtic and Tottenham Hotspur have told him that Ange Postecoglou is a ‘really top manager’.

If Harry Kane stays at Tottenham Hotspur, amid this Bayern Munich transfer talk, and there is a chance he stays, then the Greek-born Australian has one of the world’s best number nine’s to work with.

But there are some questioning if Kane suits the way Ange Postecoglou likes his forward players to perform, but that was put to bed by Friedel, as he told The Transfer Show on Sky Sports (07/02/23 at 7:10 pm).

The former Premier League goalkeeper added that the ‘top managers’ can figure out how to get the best out of their team, regardless, as he put Celtic’s Treble-winning coach into that bracket.

Well, if pre-season is anything to go by, then Kane isn’t going to let up ahead of the new Premier League season.

He struck 30 goals last time out, and if he stays put, then there is every chance he hits those numbers again, with Friedel sharing his thoughts.

“When you have a true great as Harry Kane, then the great managers, the top managers, would figure out a way to fit them into the system,” said Friedel.

“Everything that I have heard from friends I have at Celtic and now at Tottenham is that Postecoglou is a really top manager.

“When you have someone like Harry Kane, then you will find a system. I mean Harry Kane is very good at coming deep and getting the ball. His passing ability is very good and getting into the box.

“I am pretty certain there is a system that will work.”

Levy needs to help out Postecoglou

When Postecoglou walked in at Celtic, they had just conceded the Premiership title to Rangers and were in a world of mess, on and off the field.

Even though he got off to a slow start, as soon as his feet were warm, he started to cook, including securing the Treble in what was his final season at the club.

Perhaps Spurs need to take the same notes and that’s remaining patient with their new manager because he fits what they want perfectly, but a certain Daniel Levy, who has been accused of ‘screwing over’ his new manager, needs to help him out.
