Speaking on his YouTube channel, Alasdair Gold has delivered an update on Hugo Lloris’ Tottenham future, sharing what the club has told him.
There has been plenty of speculation about the Frenchman’s future at Tottenham. The London club have been linked with a plethora of new goalkeepers as he enters the final year of his deal, and it seems as though the clock is ticking on his Spurs career.
However, Gold has been told that Spurs have said to Lloris that they’re open to offering him a new contract, and the journalist says that he’d be shocked if the Frenchman left.
“Hugo Lloris, from everything I’m told, it would be a surprise if he goes this summer. Obviously he’ll only have 12 months left on his deal this summer. From what I’m told, Spurs are certainly open and have made him aware that they’re open to giving him a new deal. In today’s world a lot of these new deals for players aren’t going to be on bigger money, they’re potentially going to be on less money or similar terms,” Gold said.

This is certainly an intriguing update.
It seems as though Spurs are in the market for a Lloris replacement, but now we’re hearing that the France number one may be offered new terms to stay at Tottenham.
If someone like Nick Pope came in, would he be second choice? Or would Lloris himself be relegated?
It’s an interesting situation to ponder, and it’s one to keep an eye on in the coming months.
