Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur and Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa are reportedly about to suffer a blow in their quest to sign Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
Well-known and well-respected Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla reported in May that Tottenham, Aston Villa, Inter Milan and Napoli all want to sign former Arsenal and Manchester United player Mkhitaryan in the summer transfer window.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan blow for Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa
La Gazzetta dello Sport are reporting this afternoon that Mkhitaryan has decided to move to Inter Milan on a free transfer this summer.
The Armenia international attacking midfielder has reportedly turned down AS Roma’s latest new contract offer and has decided to move to former Italian champions Inter on a free transfer this summer, according to the report, as translated by Football Italia.
Mkhitaryan has already said his goodbyes to everyone at Roma.

Sensible decision
In our view, Henrikh Mkhitaryan staying in Italy and not moving to Tottenham Hotspur or Aston Villa makes sense.
The 33-year-old playmaker did not have a particularly great time at Manchester United or Arsenal, while he has been a success at Roma.
Mkhitaryan made 29 starts and two substitute appearances in Serie A for Jose Mourinho’s AS Roma this season.
The Armenian star scored five goals and gave six assists in those games.
Inter narrowly missed out on the Serie A title this past season and will go again in 2022-23.
Antonio Conte’s former club will also play in the Champions League next season.
