Gary Neville has spoken about the ‘frantic’ nature of transfer business, as Paul Scholes stated that Arsenal’s recruitment is just like what they do at Salford, as they told the Overlap.
Whilst Manchester United legend Scholes, who is co-owner of League Two side Salford, isn’t in charge of transfer business at the club, he did oversee recruitment during the 2022 summer window.
Some may think that high-level clubs who operate and negotiate such ridiculous amounts of money might be a bit more measured and collective in their ways when it comes to transfer dealings, but it’s far from it.

As Arsenal showcased on transfer deadline day itself, they were still putting in late bids for much-needed players, with Aston Villa making it clear that Douglas Luiz wasn’t for sale.
Salford themselves were even doing some late business moments before the window could slammed shut, with key figure, Brandon Thomas-Asante, moving up a few leagues and joining West Brom.
Nonetheless, whilst discussing Scholes’ recent line of work, which saw him overlook Salford’s business, the former midfielder’s son, Arron, spoke about watching Arsenal’s All or Nothing documentary and how transfer business is less professional than it looks, which Neville responded to, at first.
“I have done the transfer window, well not like done it, but you get all the calls for it,” said Neville. “But that last week is awful. You just get called all the time, ‘Do you want to pay this money? Do you want to pay that money? Do you want that player?’
Arron Scholes, the son of Paul, then added: “It was like I was watching the Arsenal documentary and you imagine it to be well more professional than it is.”
Neville then responded: “It’s not. It’s frantic.”
Paul Scholes then added: “That’s all it is. What they (Arsenal) do is what Salford do.”

ARTETA GETTING BACKED
Well, one thing Arteta could argue about is the fact that he has been backed by those upstairs during the past two summer transfer windows.
Previously, the Kroenkes running Arsenal’s ship haven’t exactly seen eye-to-eye with the club’s supporters, and whilst that might never change, there has been a mood swing from the relationship between the fans and those out on the pitch.
That’s a big reason why Arsenal are sitting at the top of the Premier League table heading into their gigantic encounter against Tottenham on Saturday.
If the Gunners are to secure a win, then one of their summer signings, Gabriel Jesus, who has started like a house on fire, needs to be at full pelt because three points here could send out a statement of intent.
