Tim Sherwood is a big fan of Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy.
Speaking to Squawka during a live Facebook Q&A session, former Spurs boss Tim Sherwood offered high praise for Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy, highlighting his ability to identify a player’s potential very early on in the process of their development.

Levy has had to ensure his fair share of criticism from Spurs fans for failing to bring a certain level of player to the club throughout his tenure.
But Sherwood has a different view of the 54-year-old, suggesting that his ability to tie his stars down to long-term deals far outweighs any negative aspects of the way in which he is perceived to do his business, when speaking to Squawka during a live Facebook Q&A session:

“You have to identify a player’s progress very early. If he starts to improve you have to nail him down and make sure you get him on that long contract. Daniel Levy is a master at this, he’s a great operator. Gareth Bale, for instance, possibly had seven contracts when he was at Tottenham. In the end the lure of Real Madrid was too great for him to stay and the money was too great for him to turn down. But Daniel is a good operator and a very good example of nailing players down very soon.”

The Lilywhites currently sit in second position in the Premier League table, a full nine points adrift of league leaders Chelsea, but they have played most of their so-called tough away fixtures, with Liverpool the only remaining team inside the top eight who they are yet to visit.

But many Tottenham fans believe that if Levy would have pushed the boat out in the summer by bringing in some star names, they would be in an even better position than the one they are currently in.
