The Tottenham Hotspur manager believes this week’s Premier League fixtures will go a long way to deciding the outcome of the title race.
Speaking to the media during his pre-match press conference, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino explained how it will be incredibly difficult to catch league leaders Chelsea, if Antonio Conte’s men manage to win both of their games this week against against Liverpool and Arsenal respectively, as quoted by the Evening Standard.

Tottenham currently sit in third position in the Premier League table, nine points adrift of the Blues, and will be looking for maximum points from their next two games against Sunderland and Middlesbrough.

And Pochettino discussed his side’s title chances when speaking to the press ahead of tonight’s trip to Wearside, highlighting how Chelsea’s results this week will have a huge bearing on the outcome of the title race, as quoted by the Evening Standard:
“If they win both games it will be difficult to stop them. We need to be focused on our game. The most important thing is to get the three points for us. If we win against Sunderland and Middlesbrough we keep the same gap. We need to feel that the three points are important for them but they are for us too. This is a very important game.”

Pochettino’s men are one of the league’s in-form sides, having taken 19 points from their last seven league outings, and if they can beat the Black Cats and Boro over the course of the next five days, they will have every chance of closing the gap on Chelsea.
