Former Rangers winger Gregg Wylde is excited at the prospect of facing the Gers’ B team tomorrow in the Lowland League – and hopes he gets a better reception from Rangers fans than he did when he faced Celtic B.
Wylde, who won the title at Ibrox in 2011, now plays for East Kilbride and will be an important part of their side when they face Rangers B tomorrow at Dumbarton.
Wylde is delighted to see fans get behind the Old Firm B teams, with Rangers selling out all four games so far, as the winger looks ahead to a “great occasion” at the C&G Systems Stadium.
“It will be a great occasion,” Wylde told the Daily Record.
“I’m really looking forward to it and it will be a proper test. I’m hoping for a decent reception but it will be better than what I get from the Celtic fans.
“It’s been really good that the Old Firm fans have got behind their B teams.
“It’s a great opportunity for the younger boys to play in front of bigger crowds but we can only focus on ourselves.”
Rangers B have won three of their four games as they make a strong start to their maiden Lowland League campaign.
The Gers could be bolstered by the addition of Charlie McCann to the side this weekend after the Irish youth international signed from Manchester United.
Kilby will provide arguably the toughest test Rangers have faced in the Lowland League so far so it will be an excellent opportunity for the young Gers stars to continue their impressive form.
