Former Rangers defender Bruno Alves shows no signs of hanging his boots up just yet after the 39-year-old signed a two-year deal with Portuguese side Famalicao, following in the footsteps of his father, who also played for them.
After leaving Parma in the summer following their relgation to Serie B0, Alves has returned to Portugal to join the Primeira Liga side.
The former Rangers star called the move “very special” as he looks set to play well beyond his 40th birthday in November.
“Representing a club where my father played is very special,” Alves told Famalicao’s official website.
“I accepted the invitation because I felt that the people at the club believe in me and that they give me a lot of importance.”
