Former Rangers Academy star Ciaran Dickson has made a quick return to familiar surroundings turning out as a trialist for Burnley under-23 in yesterday’s comfortable win for the Gers.
The Clarets featured a host of trialists in their ranks but a double from Robbie Ure and goals from Jake Hastie and Charlie Lindsay sealed a 4-2 win in Rangers B’s final pre-season friendly.
Dickson left Ibrox at the end of last season, despite having only recently signed a new contract to keep him with the club until 2022.
The midfielder spent time on loan at Queen of the South last season, having made his first-team debut for Rangers in a League Cup win over Falkirk last November.
A new contract in January seemed to signal the club’s intent to keep him around long-term but just four months later he was one of a number of Academy players to move on.
Rangers made right decision to let midfielder go elsewhere
Desptie currently being on trial with Burnley, Rangers made the right move to let Dickson following off-field incidents.

The Scotland youth international’s impressive on-field talent wasn’t enough to make up for his disappointing off-field attitude and it is little surprise Rangers saw fit to let him go.
Wherever he ends up, he’ll have to really get his head down and try prove Rangers wrong – although it doesn’t seem too likely.
