Recently-released former Rangers keeper Nicky Hogarth is close to signing a two-year deal with Championship side Nottingham Forest, according to a report.
The 20-year-old shot-stopper left Rangers at the end of the season after a stint on loan at Cowdenbeath and the Daily Record report he is set to join Forest’s under-23 squad.
Hogarth also had a loan stint with Stirling Albion while his younger brother Jay has recently signed a new deal with the Gers.
The keeper’s exit was something of a surprise – although with the likes of Robby McCrorie and Kieran Wright at similar ages, it would have been hard to force his way into the first-team reckoning.

Hogarth is the latest of a number of recent Rangers releases to head to England with Dapo Mebude joining Watford and Brian Kinnear close to joining Birmingham City.
While it is great for the players to get sorted out with new clubs so quickly, it raises questions over whether Rangers were a bit quick in letting them go.
Only time will tell if Rangers made the right decision or not but it will be interesting to see how the likes of Hogarth develop in England after leaving Ibrox.
