Jason McAteer would like to see more natural leaders in the Liverpool side.
Former Reds star Jason McAteer spoke exclusively to betting company 888sport.com, and shared his belief that his former club are too ‘nice’, whilst questioning club captain Jordan Henderson’s leadership skills.

And McAteer delivered his verdict on Liverpool’s current problems, when speaking exclusively to 888sport.com, whilst urging Jordan Henderson to become more vocal in his role as skipper:

“I always feel like Liverpool are a nice bunch of boys. A nice team with players you could take home to your mum. You look at Chelsea and there is a bit of horribleness about them. You can’t make a leader, they’re born. So I’d like Liverpool to go into the market and bring in someone with those leadership qualities. Jordan Henderson has been a terrific captain. Jordan is his own man and leads in other ways. He isn’t one for pointing and screaming. Liverpool need someone like that who digs out players.”

The Merseysiders will have to bounce back, and soon, with a place inside the Premier League’s top four becoming increasingly uncertain, and if Klopp fails to bring Champions League football to Anfield, this season will surely be deemed as a failure.
