Major League Soccer could be set for a massive double influx of former Anfield star power, with Darwin Nunez possibly joining alongside Mohamed Salah.
Darwin Nunez’s three-year spell at Liverpool saw him net 40 goals in 143 appearances while claiming Premier League and League Cup medals.
Following a $60 million move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal, his time in the Middle East proved difficult. Registration limits and limited start opportunities have restricted his impact, leading to an uncertain situation where Nunez is now actively considering potential transfer options.
And that’s not all, as Mohamed Salah is also being linked with a move to the MLS after leaving his contract with Liverpool.

Darwin Nunez in talks over joining Atlanta United
According to journalist Tom Bogert, Darwin Nunez is in talks with Atlanta United ahead of a potential transfer after Emmanuel Latte Lath didn’t work out.
“Yeah, looking at Atlanta United, this is a team that is very financially ambitious, and they’re going to open a DP spot with the departure of Emmanuel Latte Lath. He was a $22 million signing, at a brief point he was the league record signing, but it hasn’t worked out.
“Sources tell myself they are in discussions, at least preliminary discussions with both Darwin Nunez and Breel Embolo. Both deals would be incredibly difficult to pull off and it is a one or the other situation.
“But Atlanta United is very much in the race for both of those players.”
As mentioned, Atlanta United currently have all three Designated Player slots filled by Miguel Almiron, Alexey Miranchuk, and Emmanuel Latte Lath.
So to bring in Darwin Nunez, Atlanta must first clear a DP spot, making Latte Lath’s potential exit or a roster restructure essential to comply with MLS regulations.
