Alan Shearer has raved about reported Liverpool target and West Ham United star Jarrod Bowen on the Premier League’s official website.

The Newcastle United legend has included Bowen, linked with a move to Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool in the summer transfer window, in his Premier League Team of the Week.

The 25-year-old, who can play as a winger, midfielder or forward, scored for the Hammers in their 2-2 draw with Leicester City away from home at the King Power Stadium in the Premier League at the weekend.

Bowen – who cost West Ham £20 million in transfer fees in January 2020 (BBC Sport) – also provided the assist for the second goal that David Moyes’s side scored.

The Times reported in January that West Ham are concerned that Liverpool will make a bid for Jarrod Bowen in the summer of 2022.

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Bowen in the summer transfer window.

Shearer wrote about Bowen on the Premier League’s official website: “He’s in the form of his life, taking his goal brilliantly and then providing the assist for Craig Dawson’s late equaliser.”

Jarrod Bowen would make Liverpool better

In our view, Bowen would make Liverpool better and more potent, but West Ham are not going to make it easy for the Reds to sign him.

Especially if the Hammers end up in the Premier League top four.

West Ham are a big club who will not sell their best players unless they get big offers.

If Liverpool do sign Bowen, then, in our opinion, he would make the Reds better, even though they signed Luis Diaz from FC Porto in the January transfer window.

Bowen has scored eight goals and provided eight assists in 24 Premier League starts for West Ham so far this season.
