Jay Bothroyd has said that Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah should leave in the summer transfer window.

The former Arsenal academy player has told FourFourTwo that the Gunners need to cash in on Eddie Nketiah in the summer of 2023.

The pundit believes that the 23-year-old English striker himself has to leave Arsenal for the good of his own career.

Bothroyd said: “And I’d probably say Eddie Nketiah as well. Even though he stood in for [Gabriel] Jesus this year, I think he needs to play week in, week out for his own career.”

Should Eddie Nketiah leave Arsenal this summer?

In our view, Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah should seriously consider leaving the Gunners in the summer transfer window.

The 23-year-old is a back-up to Gabriel Jesus at Arsenal at the moment.

The striker could get regular playing time at the Gunners for a considerable period of time only because of the injury to Brazil international Jesus.

Nketiah has made nine starts and 20 substitute appearances in the Premier League for Arsenal this season.

The Arsenal no. 14 has scored four goals and provided one assist in those matches.

The striker scored two goals in six UEFA Europa League matches, two goals in two FA Cup ties, and one goal in one Carabao Cup game.

There are rumours that Arsenal are looking at signing another striker in the summer transfer window.

And let us not forget that Folarin Balogun is also scheduled to return to Arsenal from his loan spell at Reims.

So, it would be hard for Nketiah to get much playing time at Arsenal next season.
