Tottenham duo Heung-min Son and Rodrigo Bentancur met at the World Cup as South Korea played out a drab 0-0 draw against Uruguay.
The Spurs No.7 was seen wearing a mask as a result of his shocking facial injury suffered in the 2-1 Champions League win over Marseille, although neither he nor Bentancur could fire their nations to victory.
What’s the story?
Well, it was a very underwhelming game in Group H yesterday, with neither side having a shot on target.
However, there was a nice moment between Son and Bentancur during the first half.
The South Korea international walked up to the Uruguay international as a throw-in was about to be taken, before the pair quickly slapped hands and had a little hug before play resumed.
It was a nice acknowledgement of their Tottenham relationship, and even with a crucial three points in Group H up for grabs, it was good to see a show of respect between the pair.
You can see footage of the brief encounter below.
The pair also found time for an embrace before kick-off during the pre-match handshake, something they quite often do at Spurs.
They have clearly developed a strong friendship during their time in north London.
Tottenham duo Son & Bentancur both need to step it up
Every player looked lethargic and sloppy during yesterday’s snooze-fest between South Korea and Uruguay, in which there was a serious lack of quality from both sides.
Bentancur was one of the better players on the pitch, taking 102 touches of the ball – more than anyone else – while recording three tackles and three interceptions as WhoScored shows.
However, the Tottenham No.30 has the quality to make more of an impact, especially after his recent form for Spurs.

In regards to Son, he was very quiet.
South Korea’s captain failed to have a shot on target, while he also took five unsuccessful touches.
Hopefully, both Son and Bentancur will step things up in their next games, which come against Ghana and Portugal respectively.
