The Owls are set to conclude their ninth signing since the end of last season.

Sheffield Wednesday look set to complete the signing of free agent Urby Emanuelson, as revealed by HITC Sport earlier.
But what do we know about the 30-year-old? Here are five quick facts to get you up to speed:
5) Emanuelson has played for three of Europe’s biggest clubs – Ajax, AC Milan and AS Roma – winning three Dutch cups, and a Serie A title with Milan. He has appeared in the Champions League proper on 32 occasions.

4) A product of the illustrious Ajax academy, Emanuelson began life a left-back but later moved into wide and central midfield roles. He was named the Dutch club’s talent of the year in 2006 – an accolade he shared with former Arsenal and Barcelona centre-back Thomas Vermaelen.
3) He has played in England before, during a loan spell at Fulham – then managed by ex-Ajax boss Martin Jol – in 2013. Following his release by Roma last year, the 30-year-old remained in Serie A with, first, Atalanta and then Hellas Verona.

2) Emanuelson hails from a sporting family, with his father (Errol), older brother (Julius) and cousin (Roché) each playing professionally – albeit with less success. Sister Sharifa played basketball while another cousin, Jean-Paul Boetius – who has been capped by the Netherlands – transferred from Feyenoord to FC Basel in 2015.
1) Despite being of Surinamese descent, Emanuelson has played 17 times for Holland and featured alongside current Owls captain Glenn Loovens in a 1-1 draw against Ukraine in 2010. It was Loovens’ second and final cap.
