Julian Nagelsmann has been told he would be a success at Tottenham amid strong reports Spurs want him to replace Antonio Conte.
What’s the story?
Well, the German immediately became a leading contender to replace the Italian at Tottenham after Bayern Munich surprisingly decided to replace him with Thomas Tuchel.
Daniel Levy – according to the Telegraph – has now made Nagelsmann his No.1 option to replace Conte, and Didi Hamann believes his fellow countryman would do well in north London.
The 49-year-old told Sky Germany: “I think he learned a lot in Munich. That’s why I think if he comes to the Premier League, he will come there as a better coach than he was in Munich.
“I do believe that the next step will now be abroad. Once you’ve been at Bayern, once you’ve won titles, then of course you want to take the next step and that’s why I think he’ll go to England. I imagine that with Tottenham he could, I think, fit quite well.”

Sky Sports believe Nagelsmann is open to holding talks with Levy about the vacancy in N17.
The 35-year-old lost just three of his 37 games in charge of Bayern Munich this season, and despite his sacking, he remains one of Europe’s most highly rated coaches.
Nagelsmann could be another Pochettino at Tottenham
In our view, Hamann is right – we also believe Nagelsmann would succeed at Spurs, and could even become another Mauricio Pochettino in north London.
Levy’s proven winner project has failed – it seems the likes of Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte simply aren’t the right fit for a club like Tottenham.
In our view, a younger coach like Nagelsmann – who is more attuned to modern day practices, developing young players and adopting a high intensity playing style – is the type of manager who can get Tottenham ticking again.
Hopefully, Tottenham act swiftly and bring the German to N17 while they still have a clear run at his signature.
