Joe Cole has praised Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino on BT Sport 1 (2:36pm, October 16, 2021).

The former Liverpool star was impressed by the performance of Firmino during the Reds’ 5-0 hammering of Watford in the Premier League today.

The 30-year-old Brazil international forward scored a hat-trick.

Cole was following the match for BT Sports, and he was impressed by the display produced by Firmino and raved about the former Hoffenheim star.

The Englishman said on BT Sport 1 (2:36pm, October 16, 2021): “Firmino is an outstanding player. He is one of them, I think, he is a player’s player. You appreciate playing with him.”

Important player for Liverpool

There have been suggestions that Firmino’s time at Liverpool is up.

Diogo Jota has done well when he has started for the Reds, and some would like to see the Portugal international forward replace Firmino in the Liverpool starting lineup.

Permanently.

However, Firmino showed today what he is capable of.

Yes. Mohamed Salah scored the best goal of the match, but Firmino was the best player on the pitch.

After all, the 30-year-old – who earns £180,000 per week as salary, according to Spotrac – scored three goals.

The Liverpool no. 9 has scored four goals and given one assist in four Premier League matches so far this season.
