Arsenal will face off against League One side AFC Wimbledon in the third round of the League Cup.

The Gunners announced on their official website that they will take on the Dons at home next month. Arsenal got a much-needed win this week as Mikel Arteta’s side steamrolled past West Brom 6-0 in the League Cup.

A Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang hat-trick plus goals from Bukayo Saka, Nicolas Pepe and Alexandre Lacazette secured a comfortable win for Arsenal in the League Cup.

It was the club’s first win of the season after Arsenal lost both their opening Premier League fixtures against Brentford and Chelsea. The Gunners next face Manchester City.

Indeed, West Brom fielded a weak XI, with nine players making their competitive debut for the Baggies. But nonetheless, it was a League Cup win that could inspire confidence in the Arsenal squad.

And on social media, supporters were buzzing that they had been handed another favourable draw. Arsenal will take on third-tier side Wimbledon at home in the next round.
