Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to react after the club officially announced that they’d be re-turfing Elland Road with a hybrid pitch.

There was plenty of talk about the state of the pitch following the 1-0 defeat to Brighton recently.

Concerningly, the turf became boggy and swamp-like as the Seagulls grabbed all three points.

Speaking on the official Leeds United Podcast, Patrick Bamford said that he and a few of his teammates were complaining about the pitch in the dressing room after full-time.

As a result, Leeds have acted.

The Yorkshire-based outfit will be installing a hybrid turf system HT Pro, which is used by Tottenham and Swansea according to the club’s announcement.

A new pitch will be installed before Everton travel to Elland Road on February 3rd.

However, work with Hewitt Sportsturf will also commence in May, which will see Leeds completely overhaul the pitch.

Hewitt Sportsturf will implement a brand-new state of the art drainage system, which will be installed over pre-season in time for the new campaign.

Hopefully, the Everton clash will see Marcelo Bielsa’s men bounce back from their loss to Brighton with a winning display.

Let’s see how the Leeds fans on Twitter reacted to the announcement…
