Fernando Torres is set to leave Atletico Madrid and Newcastle United have been linked with a move.

Atletico Madrid striker Fernando Torres has told Spanish outlet Cadena SAR, as quoted by the Evening Chronicle, that he does not know where his future lies amid reported interest from Newcastle United.
The 34-year-old has less than three months remaining on his current deal with Diego Simeone’s side, but reaffirmed his intention to leave Atletico this summer.
Newcastle legend Micky Quinn has suggested that the Toon should consider a move for Torres, in a deal that would see manager Rafa Benitez team back up with the Spanish forward after three years together at Liverpool., as well as crossing paths at Chelsea.

But Torres does not know where he will end up, but did confirm that he does not want to continue playing football in Spain and remained unsure over a move elsewhere in Europe – with the World Cup winner also linked with China and the MLS.
“I have not made the decision. I will say it as I have said: that I leave Atletico,” Torres said. “I will not continue in Spain. Europe? I don’t know. One has an idea that can then change.”

This season, Torres has been used as somewhat of a bit-part striker at Atletico, with the Spanish club boasting the likes of Diego Costa and Antoine Griezmann. He has scored eight goals in 36 games, only 11 of which he has started.
Newcastle are likely to be in the market for a new striker this summer after missing out on Martin Jorgensen in January, and instead bringing Islam Slimani in on loan. But the Algerian has featured just two times and a permanent deal is unlikely.
