Atletico Madrid striker Fernando Torres worked with Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez at Liverpool and Chelsea.

Torres has been quoted as saying by Sky Sports that he will leave Atletico Madrid at the end of the season.
The 34-year-old Spain international striker knows the Premier League inside out, having played for Liverpool and Chelsea.
The 2012 Champions League winner worked with current Magpies’ manager Benitez at Liverpool and Chelsea, and former Newcastle centre-forward Quinn has suggested that Toffees would be a good signing for them.

Quinn said on The Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Tuesday morning (6:22am, April 10, 2018): “They need a showcase centre-forward.
“He has scored goals in the Premier League. It didn’t work out really at Chelsea, but for Liverpool, some of those goals were breathtaking.
“He is 34, but he is still scoring goals for Atletico, but he is not going to get into that team on a regular basis. Newcastle United – sign Fernando Torres.”

Blockbuster signing
Torres is one of the best strikers to have ever played in the Premier League, and although the Spaniard failed to make a huge impact at Chelsea, his achievements and performances at Liverpool cannot be underplayed.
A World Cup and European Championship winner with Spain, the 34-year-old would be a blockbuster signing for Newcastle, who need a proven goalscorer in order to have a successful 2018-19 Premier League campaign.
However, the former AC Milan man may not be interested in a move to Newcastle, with Marca quoting Antonio Sanz, who is the communications director of Bahia – the agency that represents the striker – that he would move to the USA or China.
