Liverpool have been very quiet in the summer transfer window under Arne Slot as the Reds have yet to make a signing.
Arne Slot was confirmed as Liverpool manager a couple of months ago with the Dutchman taking the reins at Anfield looking like kicking off a new era on Merseyside.
Slot replaced Jurgen Klopp at Anfield after the German had nine incredibly successful years on Merseyside as the club won everything there was to win in football, including the club’s first league title of the Premier League era back in 2020.
However, new manager Slot has yet to be given any senior signing at the club this summer which looks to be a concern.
Whilst the lack of new faces may well be an issue, there is one academy player who could be treated as a new signing at Anfield.

Trey Nyoni could be the most important summer addition for Liverpool
Pre-season football is often the perfect time to give academy players chances in the first team to try and excel and become the forefront of the manager’s thoughts.
With Liverpool yet to make a senior signing this summer, the performances of academy players may well be key and 17-year-old Trey Nyomi is making quite the impact.
Harvey Elliot labelled Try Nyoni as ‘fearless’ for the Reds with the former Leicester City midfielder showing confidence and maturity well beyond his years.
The teenager is a midfield player with his composure on the ball certainly appealing to Slot, who has given the 17-year-old plenty of chances.
Nyoni has been involved with the Liverpool first team before and the upcoming season may be the time to bring through the teenager properly.
Nyoni could be midfield addition Liverpool need
Over the past 12 months, Liverpool have lost Jordan Henderson, Fabinho and Thiago Alcantara from their midfield.
Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch, Wataru Endo and Dominik Szoboszlai have been brought in but there has been an argument to bring in another midfielder.
HITC has reported that Liverpool trusts Stefan Bajcetic to provide another option in the middle of park but they could have another option on their hands.
However, with the introduction of Nyoni, the Reds may not need a new midfielder this summer as the teenager, as mentioned, looks ready for the rigorous nature of Premier League football.
There is certainly a comparison with Manchester United’s Kobbie Mainoo to be made as the United teenager broke through during the pre-season in 2023 before suffering an injury. Nyoni looks to be on the same path as Mainoo
Whilst Nyoni may not reach the heights of Mainoo next season, the 17-year-old certainly looks the part for Liverpool. Slot must give the midfielder chances to impress.
