Alasdair Gold has shared what Fabio Paratici was like on the sidelines during Tottenham’s pre-season friendly win against Colchester.
The English journalist shared that Paratici was on his phone ‘95%’ of the time and he was assuming he was dealing with Tottenham transfers, as he told his own YouTube channel.
Spurs put three past Colchester during a pre-season win on Wednesday and it seems as though a number of senior figures were in attendance.
Gold shared that Paratici was seen speaking to Steven Hitchen, Dean Rastrick and Nuno Espirito Santo on a number of occasions, as he shared what he found ‘fascinating’.
“Probably the most interesting thing, for me, came off the pitch,” said Gold. “That was really watching closely, Fabio Paratici.
“He was milling about before the match, talking with the technical performance director, Steven Hitchen and Dean Rastrick, the academy manager. He was occasionally talking to Nuno Espirito Santo as well.
“But mainly, the guy was just on his phone. It’s like 95% of the time, he was on his phone. He had his phone in his hands and earphones in.
“But he was on it a lot. That was before the game. I would imagine during the game, but I couldn’t see him. But after the game, he came back down to the pitch, he was talking to Hitchen, Rastrick and Nuno again.
“Mostly, strolling up and down the touchline almost. Talking away on the phone. We would imagine that’s all transfer related. I thought that was fascinating.”
Well, the more comfortable Paratici gets in his new Tottenham role, the more dealings are getting dne or are about to take place.
Pierluigi Gollini has already arrived on a season-long loan deal, whilst Tottenham duo Toby Alderweireld and Erik Lamela could be heading for the exit door.
And if Lamela does indeed leave then it might also open the door for Spurs to sign Bryan Gil because he is set to be involved in a swap deal.
Whilst the Spurs fans will be pleased with what they are hearing, a lot more is needed because this squad seriously needs an overhaul.
