Laura Woods says she is ‘fascinated’ by how bad it has gone inside Tottenham Hotspur if rumours are true that Antonio Conte will be sacked and Ryan Mason will replace him until the end of the season, as she told talkSPORT Breakfast (21/03/23).
To the surprise of nobody, it’s been suggested on Monday evening that Daniel Levy has decided to boot Conte out of the door at Hotspur Way.
The international break is upon us, so it does provide the Spurs chairman with a little bit of time to make a call and it seems as though he has had enough.

Tottenham are sitting fourth in the Premier League table and they are still in the driving seat to secure another Champions League finish.
If it’s indeed Ryan Mason who takes charge, then the former midfielder has been here before because he was drafted in when Levy sacked Jose Mourinho one week before the League Cup final.
Either way, it will be a sense of Deja vu at Spurs because another trophy-laden coach is seemingly going to leave empty-handed, with Ryan Mason replacing him for the time being, as talkSPORT host Laura Woods shared her thoughts.
“I would be fascinated if that is the choice,” said Woods. “They support Ryan Mason, they did it last time. He is at the club, anyway, isn’t he?! He is already there embedded in there. Knows the team really well.
“If that’s what they are doing, then I would be fascinated to know how it’s gone so badly wrong with Conte behind the scenes, that you think it’s going to be a better environment to remove him and you have a better chance of making the top four, then allow Ryan (Mason) to take it.”

LEVY HAS TO TAKE BLAME
Whilst Conte was looking to get booted out and he needs to take more responsibility for Tottenham’s failure in the domestic cup competitions, it shouldn’t hide away from some of the truths he was speaking during his outburst.
Tottenham haven’t been able to get over the line for 20 years, during the time Levy has been in the hotseat, and the same issues occur again and again.
At some point, he needs to take a look in the mirror or move on himself because Tottenham won’t be able to take a step forward if changes aren’t made upstairs.
