Borussia Dortmund director Michael Zorc has told Sky Germany it is too early to discuss a transfer for RB Salzburg star Karim Adeyemi, amid interest from Liverpool and Barcelona.

BVB are thought to be exploring a move to sign the striker next year after a stellar season in Austria. The 19-year-old has scored a whopping 15 goals in 25 games in all competitions, and struck the back of the net during his senior Germany international debut in September.

Adeyemi is yet to open a match for Die Mannschaft, but has also laid on an assist over 48-minutes. His creative touch added to the two assists he had already provided RB Salzburg.

Sky Germany report Borussia Dortmund have made Adeyemi a written offer to move to the Westfalenstadion next year. Their bid also betters the terms Barcelona recently presented.

Barcelona have contacted Adeyemi personally to discuss switching the Red Bull Arena for the Camp Nou. Sky Germany also claim the Blaugrana offered RB Salzburg €40m (£34m).

The bid should match RB Salzburg’s valuation of Adeyemi, as Sky Germany had noted they wanted €30m-40m (£25m-34m) amid fresh transfer enquiries from Liverpool in October.

Yet Sky Germany feel Adeyemi’s path from RB Salzburg points toward a transfer to Borussia Dortmund. But BVB Sporting Director Zorc is not counting his chickens before they hatch.

“It is far too early to say anything about that and, as far as I know, he has a long-term contract [running to 2024],” Zorc said. “Adeyemi is a great German talent. He has a very good profile; brings extreme speed and a profile that is fundamentally exciting.”

Dortmund chief Zorc opens door to Liverpool transfer for RB Salzburg’s Adeyemi

Zorc claiming it is too early to discuss Borussia Dortmund signing Adeyemi opens the door for Liverpool to seal a transfer for the star RB Salzburg teenage striker next year.

While Sky Germany feel the German’s future is heading the way of the Westfalenstadion, Anfield is clearly still an option. But the Reds do appear to have some ground to make up.

Barcelona are making waves to beat Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund to agree a transfer with Adeyemi and RB Salzburg. So, his future – for now – should remain an open race.
