Speaking on the Sky Sports Football YouTube channel, Antonio Conte has been discussing what it’s like to manage Harry Kane.
The Italian was answering some of the web’s most searched questions about himself, and inevitably, Kane came up in conversation.
The Spurs gaffer had nothing but good things to say about the England captain, claiming that he’s a world-class striker who is always striving to improve.
What’s been said?
Conte spoke about Kane and his attitude.
“For sure we are talking about a world-class striker and an incredible player. It is a pleasure for me to be his coach. He is a fantastic player but I want to underline the human aspects. Usually if a player has great talent, sometimes they don’t want to work the same way as other players, sometimes they are lazy and think they can’t improve, but instead he has great desire to improve himself,” Conte said.
Manager’s dream
Conte says that Kane is a pleasure to coach, and, to be honest, it doesn’t take a genius to figure out why.
Kane is a fantastically talented footballer and he’s gotten to where he is now through hard work and determination.
Let’s not forget, Kane wasn’t a boy-wonder like Wayne Rooney, Michael Owen or Kylian Mbappe. He really never got his first-team chance until he was 21, and since then, he’s made sure his effort levels haven’t dropped.
Having a player like this must be brilliant as a coach. Kane is a sponge for information, and as one of Spurs’ best players, he’s also a role model for everybody else.
Conte is very lucky to be working with a player like Kane.
