Fans urge Rangers target Mexer to snub Ibrox transfer after second cryptic post

The Rangers manager, Steven Gerrard, was pictured with the rumoured Ibrox target this week.

The reported Rangers target, Mexer, is being urged to snub a move to Ibrox by fans of his current club.

Mexer has been strongly linked with a summer free transfer to Rangers and was pictured with the Gers boss, Steven Gerrard, earlier this week (O Pais).

Meanwhile, the Stade Rennais centre-back has remained active on social media – announcing in an Instagram post at the weekend that he was ‘walking towards the future’.

The Rangers winger, Daniel Candeias, replied to that particular message, advising Mexer that ‘the future is here’.

And the Mozambique international added the following post on Tuesday evening, in which he can be seen wearing a sweatshirt with the word ‘move’ printed on the back.

Many Rangers supporters are taking that as yet another sign that Mexer is Ibrox bound – a feeling that is shared by several of a Rennes persuasion…
